We now have the dates for the Pokémon Championships 2023-24 Malaysia!

The competition will start with an online qualifying phase, after which all qualified winners will face each other in the Main Competition, an offline tournament to crown our Champion!

Online Qualifiers Details (hereinafter, “the competition” / “the event”)

【Competition Name】“2024 Global Challenge III”

※ The official online competition “2024 Global Challenge III” will serve as the qualifiers for the “Pokémon Championships 2023-24 Malaysia” competition.

We recommend checking those in addition to the Important Information in this article.

【Registration Period】From March 21, 2024 8:00 MST(March 21, 2024 00:00 UTC)to March 29 7:59 MST(March 28, 2024 23:59 UTC)

※ Make sure to register during the registration period, as you won’t be able to register once the tournament has started.

You will need to register your Battle Team when entering the competition.

Follow these steps to enter the competition:

[Poké Portal]→[Battle Stadium]→[Online Competition]→[Official Competition]→[Search for a competition]

※ Your “Location and Age Division” will be based on your Battle Stadium settings of the same name.

※ Only players who have set their Battle Stadium Location as “Malaysia” will be eligible to qualify for the “Pokémon Championships 2023-24 Malaysia” Video Game Main Competition.

※ Note that you will need to complete at least 3 full matches in order for your results to be registered.



【Competition Structure and Rules】

■ Eligible Games

・ Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

Pokémon Scarlet + The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero

・Pokémon Violet + The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero

Eligible Region

・Malaysia

■ Age Divisions

・Junior Division: born in 2011 or later

・Senior Division: born after 2006 and before 2011

・Masters Division: born in 2006 or before

※ Invites for the Main Competition will be given out by order of ranking, after combining rankings from all three age divisions. Your “Location and Age Division” settings must match the information on your personal identification documents. Players whose personal identification documents in the live Main Competition don’t match their “Location and Age Division” settings from the Qualifiers will be disqualified.

■ Battle Rules

Double Battles under Regulation Set F

To be eligible, a Pokémon must either have been obtained in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet (and/or The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero), hatched from an egg in those games, have been obtained from an official gift distribution for those games, or have been transferred from Pokémon HOME.

【Number of Main Competition invites】Top 64 ranked players

※ Invites for the Main Competition will be given based on the combined rankings from Junior, Senior and Masters age divisions.



【Please check the information recorded in your Nintendo Account as well as your Battle Stadium “Age Division and Location” settings】

In order to be eligible for an invite to the Main Competition, players must satisfy the conditions below:

・Your ‘Battle Stadium’ Location must be set as Malaysia.

・Your ‘Battle Stadium’ Age Division settings must match your actual date of birth.

Eligible players who have qualified for the Main Competition will be notified via an email sent by The Pokémon Company to the email address recorded in that player’s Nintendo Account. Qualified players will need to reply to that email to formally confirm their intent to attend the event.

Before participating in this competition, please check the following:

・The email address registered in your Nintendo Account

・Your “Location and Age Division” settings in Battle Stadium

and correct them if necessary.

Please note that we will not be able to deal with individual requests regarding misregistered e-mail addresses or Location & Age Division settings.

【Important Information & Terms of Use】

・Only one user per Nintendo Switch™ family console can enter the competition, with either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.

・Even if a single Nintendo Account is connected to several Nintendo Switch™ family consoles to play Pokémon Scarlet and/or Pokémon Violet, participants must use only one Nintendo Account and one console for the competition.

・Only one user per Nintendo Account may participate. If you are playing both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games on a single Nintendo Account, please only use either of them to enter the competition. A single Nintendo Account may only receive one Pokémon Championships 2023-24 Malaysia Main Competition invite as a reward for top placement in the competition. Additionally, please note that entering the competition with multiple Nintendo Accounts would be considered an infringement of the fairness of the competition, and that any player caught doing so will receive a penalty.

Nintendo Switch Online (paid) membership is required for online play.

Competition results and battle data will be provided to Nintendo and The Pokémon Company (as well as their subsidiaries).

Players engaging in any of the following behaviors may receive penalties, which may include getting banned from future online events and contents:

 1.Using Pokémon that were illegally obtained or modified with a save-altering software or device, or Pokémon containing any such data.

 2.Disconnecting an excessive amount of times during battle (from the moment the battle opponent has been assigned to the moment match results are fully uploaded to the server). (Please make sure you have access to a stable internet connection when using online features)

 3.Any behavior that might cause trouble for other participants or make them feel uncomfortable.

 4.Software cracking, or any other such conduct that might impact the battles or the smooth running of the event.

 5.Registering with false information, or participating under someone else’s name.

 6.Participating in the competition with multiple Nintendo Accounts.

 7.Purposefully influencing the results of matches by using several consoles and game files, or by coordinating with other players.

 8.Any other behavior deemed unsuitable by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company (and their subsidiaries).

※ 2024 Pokémon World Championships Invites can only be obtained by placing among the top players at the Pokémon Championships 2023-24 Malaysia Main Competition. There are a total of 8 spots at Worlds 2024 for players from Malaysia.




※ Players who receive Travel Awards will have their flight and accommodation for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships paid for and arranged by The Pokémon Company. Barring any special circumstances, all travel details – including the round trip flight tickets and hotel – will be chosen by The Pokémon Company. Note that if an eligible player still decides to arrange anything themselves, The Pokémon Company will not cover any cancellation or modification fees for reservations made by players.
